The Walkabout Clearwater Sloop Club, Inc. is... |
...an independent, not-for-profit outreach organization dedicated to the promotion of environmental awareness and social action through song, education, and other activities.
As a chartered sloop club of the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, Inc. (www.clearwater.org), we take our boat - a seven-foot-tall replica of the Clearwater - inland where the "big sloop" can't go. Along with the Walkabout Chorus, the boat carries the message of environmental education and social action.
On the second Saturday of each month from October through May we dock our boat at the Walkabout Clearwater Coffeehouse, a monthly folk music series currently located in White Plains, New York. A portion of the proceeds from each season is sent directly to Clearwater.
